I'm Jitri Tan a representative of the Anime Guild PHIL, an ANIMATION STUDENT ORGANIZATION in PUP; headed by no less than Mr. Norman G. De La Cruz.

We are working out a Convention this January (maybe fourth week of the month) entitled PINOY A*KO (as in PINOY Anime KOnvention)...

As usual, in a convention we will hold COSPLAYS!!!(Hi to Miss Alodia!!!) and lots of other contests...

Chloebs points out that the Hero launch cosplay competition does not currently accept gaming-only characters -- understandable, given it's a TV-centric event.

Since there's animation in gaming, you might wanna accept gaming characters into your cosplay competition.

Some of parts of your program sound similar to stuff seen at AnimeXplosion 2005. Maybe the Animation Council of the Philippines can help with the animation industry stuff. ;)

OFCOURSE!!!

The whole event is to showcase Animation (be it gaming or even animated films, WHATEVER!!!) . We will, infact, have Animation Workshops ongoing, during the Convention. The Convention will be held at an adjacent venue. The Workshops are covered in the ticket. You buy a ticket, you are entitled to join the convention and attend the workshop... Neat huh? That's not all... we could also include ADOBE Photoshop and ImageReady workshops (if you guys are THAT lucky...) hehehe...
AND IT STILL DOESN'T STOP THERE! It's a total of 5 DAYS!!!

1st Day - Big Bang! (Anime Parade! Anime Exhibits! Contests! etc!)

2nd Day - Elementary Level (Workshops... but the Anime booths and stuffs are still running - Competitions are focused on Elementary level(cosplays,etc))

3rd Day - High School Level (Workshops... still running...Competitions for High Schoolers...)

4th Day - College Level (Workshops... but the Anime booths and stuffs are still running and competitions on College Level)

5th Day - Grand Explosion! (Final Anime Parade, Awarding Ceremonies! More Exhibits! Distinguished Guests! and LOTS MORE!)

Sure! I could say that the GRANDEST parts you could watch for is the FIRST and LAST... First Day because it'd be a blast! With the Parade, Cosplays, Contests and everything... Nihon Night features a dating game. I've seen Star Wars Philippines pull off an in-costume, in-character dating game; it was hilarious.

Would that activity fit in the program, or is it too far off the animation industry path? :)

We are looking for activities that will sure make this event enjoyable and something to look forward to... Since this is along those lines, maybe I could pull some strings....

Hello g3tan, welcome to Pinoy Cosplay..XD (i know,im kinda late too..xD and omg..my 1st post,haha..xD) anyway,about the event?i think 5 days is well kinda long..^^ if you were to ask me (me lang,ah) 2-3 days would be fine.. hmm..programs?how about jrock bands (in cosplay outfit?) haha..XD that'd be cute..XD

I agree on the Burly Brawl thing... hmmmm.. (thinks a lot)

Well, you don't really have to attend the STRAIGHT 5 days (although I would sure want to see you EVERYDAY... joke) because competitions on the three days in between are divided by age groups... Everyone in the second day would be Elementary studs... Then High School for the next Day... and College for the fourth... tapos LAST DAY Syempre nandun lahat kasi awarding...so technically it would be a 3 day event lang... kung isa-sum up ung na-attendan mo...

Pero still, Kami rin parang nalulula sa 5 day event eh... :P

And one more thing...

Yung Jrock bands are really kinda cool... Ako rin gusto ko nun.. kya lang wla me lam kung saan at papaano kmi makakakuha nun... Baka may alam kayo... :lol: hehehe :P

Eniwei, meron pa akong naisip na isa... marami kasi sa mga kasama ko dito na mga anime adiks... KINAKABISADO UNG MGA KANTA....(mga OP ng Full Metal Panic, Naruto, etc...etc..)

Ano kaya kung magkaron ng ANIME SINGING CONTEST? hehehe.. la lang... :P

if you guys need help sorting out/inviting guests such as bands tocome to the conventions, I'll be more than happy to help since America has seen their fair share of jrock bands and jpop idols

and to have a convention for 5 days would be crazy :o the longest I've been to is a 4 day event and the last day was pretty uneventfull.

Its always nice to see that the philippines has been reaching its arms out to bring about conventions. I'm pretty excited to go home even if it is in 2007 but I will most likely go home this year as well if the trial doesnt go all too well.

By the way... I was scanning for possible companies that could set up their booths at the KOn... Well na-contact ko na ang level-up but still no replies... pero I was thinking of companies that could set-up parang Anime Toys, or Komiks, or .... ah... Ewan ko! Basta mga ganun!

We are even open for companies na naghahanap ng artists... etc... yung mga tipong job fair?... ung parang sa Komik Kon sa UP nun? people like The Drawing Board, StoryBoards Online, Glasshouse.. etc...

Or yung mga gusto magbenta ng mga Komiks... books... Mga How to Draw.. Kahit ano! kasi MALAKI ung venue at maraming space na pwedeng pag-set up-an.

Hehehe...

Nga pla... ang Konti kasi namin... para mag-Organize ng gani2ng event kailangan po sana namin nang 2long... Baka may mga kilala po kayo na ORGS na pede 2mulong...

Anime Singing Contest is on...

Kaya lang gagawa pa ba kami ng parang videoke na anime?

Halimbawa... (Naruto Opening - Haruka Kanata tpos gagawa kami sa ADOBE Premiere ng Collection ng mga clips ng Naruto na magmamatch sa tugtog tpos lalagyan ng lyrics)

How about the safety of the cosplayers? Are they going to implemented in the event? Dressing rooms, designated area and maybe a small token of appreciation, are they also considered in the event?

Maybe you can add those as well so that the cosplayers will feel safe and secured.

Well, for the prizes syempre meron... kya lang undecided pa dahil hindi pa kami totally worked out with the sponsors...

Dun sa venue, meron kaming i-e enclose na area malapit na rin sa may CR para talagang dressing room na maayos na... (Heck! kung gusto mong maligo pa muna bago mag-costume e gawin mo! Waheheheh!!!)
May mga ROTC Marshalls na lang na magtitingin ng mga papasok at lalabas...

Sa security naman, ung NALRC Building kasi, ang main feature nia ay ung Bulwagang Balagtas at Recreational Hall sa top floor. Dahil reserved na sa atin yun, plus plano naming magpa-set up ng food booths sa labas ng Building o kaya sa lobby para di na kayo lalabas, tapos dahil magkakalat din kami ng ads at mga tao na parang ushers(naka-costume din)sa 2nd at First floor,l kung kaya parang HALOS technically Occupied natin ung buong 3 floors ng NALRC...

Presko naman sa loob ng building, well ventilated pero kung talagang naghahanap kayo ng aircon, dun sa Bulwagang Balagtas ang Fully-Airconditioned. Dun magagnap ang Animation Workshops (namin), Animation Exhibits (namin din), dun din i-e Exhibit mga entries pra sa Animation contests at iba pa kasi dun naka-set-up ung mga projectors at PC, at doon din magaganap ang Awarding...
